FREEPORT, the one and only Hungarian funky band greets you. The leading soul funky band of not only Hungary but of Central Europe plays the best funky music around today: we play songs by TOWER OF POWER, AVERAGE WHITE BAND, MACEO PARKER, etc. Since we have just released our first English language CD - Funk Radio -, our program naturally includes our own material, samples of which you can listen to on our website. Since funky music cannot function without a healthy mixture of horns and rhythm section, FREEPORT consists of nine members: our singer is accompanied by a four-member rhythm section (drums, keyboards, bass guitar, electric guitar), which is matched with a four-member brass section (two trumpet players, baritone and tenor sax players).

Our debut CD is distributed by Universal Music, and we are regulars of the Hungarian funk club circuit. Due to the limited possibilites - and the success of our CD - in Hungary, we strongly feel that we can show something new yet well known for audiences around Europe. Right now we are in the process of finalizing our 2003 Fall/Winter schedule, so we do invite you to listen to our songs and take a look at our program.
